SkillsActive in Europe
Whilst SkillsActive continues to raise standards and productivity within the UK, there is a growing demand for the consideration of workforce development at a European level.
The EU has placed high importance on the development of a European qualifications framework that will ultimately result in a flexible and transparent qualification framework at a European level, allowing for an increased level of worker mobility. See the project section of this page for more details of the EQF.
SkillsActive have been at the cutting edge of European developments for the sector over the last three years. Such efforts have culminated in the coming together of experts from all corners of Europe to focus on LMI and the creation of generic standards for improving the workforce at a European Level. SkillsActive is a lead member of three European Networks:
- EOSE: the European Observatory of Sport and Employment (of which SkillsActive holds the presidency and provides the secretariat)
- EASE: the European Association of Sports Employers
- EHFA: the European Health and Fitness Association
