Projects

EOSE is the co-ordinating organisation of much of the collaborative European project work that we have undertaken.

The Vocasport project to review the Vocational Education and Training systems in sport across the 25 states and Euroseen, which has established workforce plans for fitness, tennis and basketball, were the first major projects to be completed.

Following their success, the Sector has been approached as one of four to pilot/test the implementation of the new European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The overall development of the EQF is being led by QCA on a European basis. The objective behind the work is to assess the implications and opportunities for the harmonisation of Vocational Qualifications systems across the EU in our sector.

Current Projects

SkillsActive are currently involved in 3 projects, aiming to develop the EQF in specific sub-sectors. The 3 projects are:

  • ECVET in fitness – fitness standards have now been agreed across Europe. This project builds upon this work to establish a health a fitness vocational education and training system within the European Qualifications Framework.
