Scottish executive committee
The aim of this executive committee is to provide SkillsActive in Scotland with an employer-led focus and a strategic direction within a UK policy framework.
It is supported by three employers’ committees representing the following sub-sectors:
- Outdoor employers’ committee
- Playwork Education and Training Council
- Sport, recreation, health and fitness employers’ committee.
The employers’ executive committee consists of four core members:
- An employer representative of the public sector (John Zimny)
- An employer representative of the private sector (Debbie Williams)
- An employer representative of the voluntary sector (Jane Scott)
- A representative of the Scottish Trades Union Congress (Munro Ross).
They will be joined by two representatives from each of:
- The playwork sector group
- The outdoors employers’ committee
- The sport, recreation, health and fitness employers’ committee
- A caravan employers’ committee, if one is formed.
John Zimny, director of leisure services for Angus Council, is the chair of the employers’ executive committee. John is also the treasurer of VOCAL, the Voice of Chief Officers of Cultural, Community and Leisure Services in Scotland.
