Playwork People Scotland
Skillsactive are carrying out a piece of research among playworkers and Playwork employers in Scotland. We have developed a questionnaire which will give us the information about where Playworkers are in the area of training, registration, and resources. The findings from this research will be used to inform Scottish Government, SSSC registration summaries, and will give us detailed information on the needs of the Playwork sector in Scotland.
All completed questionnaires will also be entered into our free £200 prize draw.

Working in Scotland
We have a national manager for children and young people in Scotland. Operating through the Playwork Education and Training Council (PETC) in Scotland, SkillsActive engages with employers, training providers and other key stakeholders. The Terms of Reference for the PETC group, minutes of past meetings, and list of members can be found here.
A strong infrastructure is in place to enable partners at local and regional levels to contribute to the development of the workforce in the field of active leisure and learning, and SkillsActive works within existing structures at to avoid duplication and to work in partnership with all key stakeholders.
SkillsActive works closely with the Scottish Executive, Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), Play Scotland, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and a number of other professional bodies and stakeholders to engage with employers and training providers in the children’s workforce.
