Produced by SkillsActive Playwork South East in partnership with the DfES, this DVD is intended to be shown in schools across the UK to young people aged 14-19, and promotes playwork as a viable and exciting career option. The film is also an ideal resource for introductory training such as Making Choices and careers advice and information.
Play Professionals provides an overview with feedback from real playworkers about what the job entails and why they enjoy being a playworker.
Play Professionals features staff and children from Haringey Play Association, Somerford Grove Adventure Playground, The Venture and Wansdyke Play Association. The film is around eight minutes long and shows some fantastic scenes of indoor and outdoor play opportunities and activities.
Although the target age range is young people the film has been well received by people of all ages wishing to gain an overview of the profession.
