South West Playwork Employers Forum
SkillsActive Playwork South West organises a Playwork Employers Forum that meets termly to discuss the issues faced by playwork employers. Further details about the forum and meeting dates can be found by clicking here.
Training Providers Forum
A regional Training Providers Forum event is held by SkillsActive Playwork South West annually that aims to:
- Work with training providers to promote the value of peer-endorsed training
- Promote the benefits of training and qualifications
- Discuss workforce issues and identify ways forward
- Promote and encourage development by training providers of a wide range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities

Playwork Partnerships Consortium
The work of SkillsActive Playwork South West and Playwork Partnerships is managed by a voluntary Consortium made up of playwork representatives from each of the South West regional areas - Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon, Bournemouth, Poole, Plymouth and Torbay, Somerset & Wiltshire. Anyone can get involved in our work and some of the opportunities include becoming a member of:
- National Endorsement Panel representing the South West
- the planning group for the annual South West Play Celebration
- the Consortium

National Committees
The Playwork Education & Training Council - UK
SkillsActive is committed to improving the quality and range of play opportunities for children and young people through the support and development of education, training and qualifications for the Playwork workforce. To achieve this, SkillsActive consults and works in partnership with a wide range of relevant organisations and agencies throughout the UK.
The Playwork Education and Training Council for the UK, PETC.UK, is a forum for the sector to discuss issues of strategic importance on all aspects of playwork education, training and qualifications in the UK. It makes recommendations to the Sector Council of SkillsActive amd the SkillsActive Playwork Unit on decisions affecting Playwork across the four nations.
SkillsActive Playwork South West is a member of this forum and disseminates information to the nine regions of England as appropriate.
