PATHWAYS : Management & Operations
A career in Management and Operations is one that is relevant to many sectors and the skills required in sport are generally not very different. To work in operations or management can mean playing a part in ensuring that sport operates smoothly from a local level including club volunteers and recreation attendants in sports centres, to Chief Executives for large Governing Bodies including the Football Association, the Rugby Football Union and the Lawn Tennis Association. From the successful management of a Premiership football club to the organisation of your local sports club, there are a variety of roles – both paid and voluntary – which need to be carried out to ensure that the opportunities for junior coaching sessions, competitive events, and the maintenance of facilities is carried out successfully.
