A programme of activity running from April 2012 to March 2014, core to the work of SkillsActive to engage employers, through SkillsActive employer groups, individually and through representative bodies and trade associations:
- To engage employers into the home nation executive committees and sub-sector employer groups across the UK, to strategically drive the work of SkillsActive in meeting the skills development needs of active leisure, developing clear and consistent action plans to build a UK Strategy
- To complete the implementation of the Skills Protocol in England, working with the key trade associations, SPELG and employers
- To work with home nations employers and stakeholders, through the SkillsActive Executive Committees to align the Skills Protocol to the needs of employers in the nations and ensure applicability to each nation
- To take the concept of the skills protocol in to the outdoors, caravan industries, playwork and sport and develop appropriate sub-sector equivalents
- To connect employers, through the adoption of the skills protocol to the active passport, registration and the network of approved training providers
