activepassport™ is a verified online record of an individual’s training, volunteering, CPD, qualifications, and achievements. Unlike a standard CV, the qualifications and experience have been validated, ensuring candidates possess the right skills, training, and experience.
activepassport is the easy way to assess prospective employees, ensure current staff have relevant, up-to-date training and stay in touch with those who have worked for you.
Key benefits to training providers include:
Over 20,000 people in the UK currently have an activepassport™, and more than 40 UK sport and leisure CEOs representing 70% of the workforce have now signed a skills protocol, committing they will work towards their employees holding and maintaining an activepassport™ as standard.
Individuals can puchase activepassport for £9.95 on our website. However, training providers can access a substantial discount by bulk purchasing activepassports for their learners.

SkillsActive has successfully bid to the government’s Joint Investment Programme (JIP), releasing £230,000 over two years to match fund employers’ (in England) investment in the Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork from early years.
In SkillsActive's Playwork People 4 survey over 55% of employers reported a lack of knowledge of the Playwork principles in their current staff while 44% of employees had no playwork specific qualification. From experience, we know that many employers recruit staff with early years qualifications in order to meet Ofsted registration requirements, but find that they don’t follow the playwork approach to the work. The JIP Working in the Community (Playwork) project aims to improve knowledge and understanding of the playwork principles and playwork theories for those who have qualified in early years.
The Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork (from early years) is a short qualification comprising two units: Understand Aspects of Playwork Practice and Understand the Theories Underpinning Playwork Practice. Learners must already have achieved a level 3 qualification in early years to register; for example, this could be an NVQ in Early Years, Care and Education or in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. Please note that the new Working with Children and Young People Diploma is not valid as an entry qualification.
Employers will be expected to provide £229 which is 50% of the cost of the qualification and the Skills Funding Agency will match this with an additional £229.
This programme, developed on behalf of the sector in, has earned much of its success through the support of employers. However, the opportunity to benefit from this programme still exists for all employers in the sector, including those who originally expressed an interest but did not commit any learner details.

SkillsActive will be working with the SFA on the final stage of lead provider selection based on the SFA assessment and shortlisting of training providers. The project will run from October 2011 until the end of July 2013. You will be contacted when the programme’s training providers have been identified.
As more information becomes available we will post it to this site.
