Why join SkillsActive?

If you and your business believe in investing in people, in encouraging and motivating staff by helping them develop their skills and operating to a professional and high quality standard then you should support us as your sector skills council.

It is only by working with businesses and organisations in the industry that we can achieve our goals:

• to improve the supply of solutions for employers to up skill their staff
• to ensure training and standards meet the needs of the sector
• to foster the development of exemplary organisations with motivated and skilled staff.

Why we need members

As a skills council licensed by government we need to show clearly that we engage with employers in the sector. A primary indicator of successful engagement is our membership numbers.

One of the best ways your business can help us succeed is by becoming a member of SkillsActive. With our collective power and government backing we can make the future of our sector reflect the needs and demands of the people working in the industry.

• As a member, you demonstrate commitment to developing a skilled workforce and to improving business standards in the sector.

Who is membership for?

SkillsActive membership is for any organisation in the active leisure and learning sector.

Therefore any business, whether you employ people working in the sector or train people to work in the industry, can get involved.

We have developed three types of membership to accommodate the different organisations we work with. To find out which is right for your business click here

Cost

The annual cost of membership is low, with one business site costing just £25* per year, and even when you sign up all your business sites you won’t have to pay more than £250* for the year.

• The knowledge that your organisation is offering much valued support to our cause and helping towards shaping skills for the future.
• You also get to take advantage of a wide range of benefits, designed to help your business succeed and save you money. These benefits are our way of saying thank you.

We value your input and support whether you run a private business, are a large operator, or a small or voluntary organisation. We understand your needs are different and will tailor our knowledge and advice to your requirements.
