Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity
4/11/11

The chairman of the Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, Miles Templeman, has been appointed as an independent non-executive director to the board of the Rugby Football Union.

The appointment was welcomed by IMSPA CEO, Sean Holt, who considers Mr Templeman’s involvement in the two sporting organisations a considerable boon to the UK’s sport and physical activity sector:

“I would like to congratulate Miles on his appointment to the RFU board, which I believe will be of great value to everyone in the sport and physical activity sector.  One of our key objectives at IMSPA is to develop the workforce of tomorrow by driving professional standards and sharing best practice across the sector. Miles’s involvement with both the sector’s professional body and one of its biggest national governing bodies can only be of benefit in achieving this.”

Mr Templeman, a keen rugby fan, also has high hopes for his new appointment:

“I’m looking forward my new role with the RFU, and believe that both this and my position at IMSPA will complement each other very effectively in ensuring that the sport and physical activity sector benefits from a strong, unified leadership.”
