Active Women Consortium Training conference - Getting girls active!

The Active Women Consortium Training Conference, 17-18 November, will be useful for anyone with a passion and interest in developing sports participation amongst young women.

The event will take place at Warwick University and will hosted by former Olympian and badminton player Donna Kellogg MBE. Donna has won the European Women’s Doubles Gold in 2000 and 2006 with Jo Goode and Gail Emms respectively. Donna was awarded and MBE in 2010 for services to badminton.

Alongside Donna will be keynote speakers including Jayne Molyneux, Sport England’s Strategic Lead for Children and Young People. Su Cumming, Prinicipal Manager at Community Sport for Newcastle City Council, and Karen Keohane, National Manager of the Active Women Consortium, will also be speaking.

The conference will also feature training workshops and gateway courses including fundraising, organising events, introduction to behaviour change and making doorstep sport deaf friendly. There will also be three-hour sports courses in Table Tennis, Streetcheer and a Football Masterclass.
