12/3/12
Just a few months away from the greatest show on earth, we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to stimulate and sustain increased participation amongst women and girls.
But it's not going to be easy; still only one in five women do enough to benefit their health.
Women’s Sport & Fitness Foundation are proud to be working in partnership with StreetGames, Sporting Equals and the English Federation of Disability Sport to bring you the Fit 4 Women Conference 2012 taking place in Manchester (19th March) and Central London (22nd March).
This event is your opportunity to learn about what projects are increasing participation, share your experiences and be inspired to deliver engaging and inclusive programmes.
You’ll be inspired by John Amaechi OBE, organisational consultant and high-performance coach. He is a New York Times best-selling author and former NBA basketball player. Barbara Keeley MP for Worsely and Eccles South, and champion for Women's Sport, will be presenting in Manchester and Tracey Crouch MP, and FA qualified coach, will be presenting in London. There will also be presentations from Sport England and Corporate Culture.
Workshops will present case studies from the like of Us Girls, Run England and the Muslim Women’s Sport Foundation. You’ll hear how these and other programmes approached the challenge of engaging and retaining women and girls.
