SkillsActive, along with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Community and The Sussex Cricket Board, has supported the development of the "In’ Zone", a designated interactive and comprehensive ‘one-stop shop’ area for information about sport and leisure courses, training and volunteering opportunities in sport, leisure and recreation throughout Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
The idea of the "In' Zone" is to provide local people with an area at the TAKEPART festival of sport on Saturday 27 June that provides them with information and guidance about the range of qualifications, jobs and volunteering opportunities that are on offer in the city and in Sussex.
Local providers such as FE Colleges, Universities and other providers including Job Centre Plus, Sport Leaders UK, and the County Sport Partnership will be on hand to provide information, advice and guidance about courses, qualifications and volunteering opportunities they have on offer.
Also showcased in the "In' Zone" is the current work of the Brighton and Hove School Sport Partnership’s Young Leaders and Gifted and Talented Academy, as well as representatives from Brighton and Hove’s Sports Development Team and the Sussex County Sport Partnership giving advice about clubs who are looking for volunteers and coaches.
For more information about the TAKEPART festival of sport, from the TAKEPART Day on 27 June to the array of sports taster sessions running over the two-week festival and the local School Sports Festival, visit the TAKEPART website: www.takepartbrightonandhove.com.
