SkillsActive is urging training providers in Yorkshire and the Humber to apply for funding to help fill gaps for disability sports coaches and delivery staff.
Working with SkillsActive and the Federation of Disability Sports Organisations, the Skills Enhancement Fund has commissioned £250,000 in programmes and workshops to address skills shortages in disability sport. The Skills Enhancement Fund aims to engage employers in Yorkshire and the Humber in skills development and increase the region’s skills base.
SkillsActive chief executive Stephen Studd says: “This funding will enhance sporting opportunities for people with a disability across the region. We encourage all providers from Yorkshire and the Humber interested in delivering the training to apply."
Applications close at 12pm on Friday 30 July 2010.
