The debate highlights the possibility of registration in a central "Register" replacing the AALA licensing scheme as well as the alternative independent schemes that are being considered by different interest groups within the outdoors community.
The forum was attended by outdoor employers and practitioners from all over the UK.

Modules 2 & 4 are required for paid drivers or driving in connection with a commercial business. It is recommended that these modules be completed as evidence of competence even if the driving is voluntary and/or not for profit.
Theory training days are available for modules 1a, 1b, 2 and 4. It is possible to prepare for 1a and 1b as home study but it is strongly recommended that candidates attend training courses for modules 2 and 4.
