Consultations

SkillsActive leads on a number of consultations and undertakes research on behalf of the sector. This ranges from seeking views on new or revised national occupational standards to employer surveys on understand skills, training and recruitment issues. The results of these consultations and surveys provide the sector with a better understanding of what the key issues are that needs addressing to improve performance; plus, the evidence base to support solutions that are put forward. Government consultations

Consultations are one of the ways that the government involves industry and the public in the decision making process. They are usually carried out whenever a new policy or regulation is planned. SkillsActive endeavor to respond to all relevant consultations with input from our members and employers in the active leisure and learning sector. We also encourage individuals in our sector to respond to consultations direct. On this page we will highlight relevant consultations that SkillsActive are running as well as those that are being carried out by government departments and committees in Westminster and in the devolved administrations across the UK. Sport and Play Surfaces – Level 3 NOS

Until recently the sport and play surfaces sub-sector did not have any appropriate *NOS relating to it. The NOS and associated qualification structure at Level 2 were approved at the end of last year and now there is an urgent need to provide a route for further progression within this sub sector.

Working in Fitness Survey 2008

The annual UK Working in Fitness Survey is well established, confidential survey being conducted online by SkillsActive and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
