‘Play takes Place’ - PlayBoard NI /SkillsActive Joint Conference 2007
At present children’s play is one of the most comprehensive crosscutting public policy issues affecting families and communities. There is growing public interest in play, opinion polls and surveys show a strong demand for places to go and things to do’ for children and young people. Politicians and opinion formers are interested in exploring how good play opportunities can help improve quality of life and safety in neighbourhoods. This conference will explore how play contributes to education, tackles obesity and promotes children’s health and well-being, as well as contributing to children’s development, building social capital and community cohesion.
