DESCRIPTION:At present childrenâ€™s play is one of the most comprehens
 ive crosscutting public policy issues affecting families and communiti
 es.  There is growing public interest in play\, opinion polls and surv
 eys show a strong demand for places to go and things to doâ€™ for chil
 dren and young people.  Politicians and opinion formers are interested
  in exploring how good play opportunities can help improve quality of 
 life and safety in neighbourhoods.  This conference will explore how p
 lay contributes to education\, tackles obesity and promotes childrenâ€
 ™s health and well-being\, as well as contributing to childrenâ€™s dev
 elopment\, building social capital and community cohesion.
