Celebrate the Paralympic handover
While the Paralympics are only just about to begin in Beijing, with the opening ceremony taking place tomorrow, London is already looking forward to the handover. London 2012 have produced a set of resources to help children and young people from schools and colleges across the UK lead the celebrations of the handover, which will also mark the start of the London 2012 education programme.
London 2012 - 05/09/2008
On 17 September, the Paralympic Flag will be handed from the Mayor of Beijing to the Mayor of London. This moment marks the start of the build up to the London 2012 Games and London 2012 have invited children and young people in schools and colleges across the UK to lead celebrations and mark the start of our journey to 2012.
To support these celebrations, London 2012 have developed a website featuring films, assembly resources and suggested activities. Visit the site to find out more (www.london2012.com/paralympichandover), register your place of learning and share your plans.
