Free skills workshops for local sports employers
Local sport and leisure employers are being offered free access to skills clinics this month, thanks to the National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure launching a series of half-day workshops across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Each workshop is designed to provide employers with practical marketing and customer service techniques to help them keep their sports clubs and leisure centres ahead of the competition in the current economic climate.
The Skills Clinics running until the end of July are:
Grow Your Club - practical information on how to make your sports club vibrant, visible and viable.
How to Provide Excellent Customer Service – advice on improving your level of service, resolving customer service issues and increasing client satisfaction and retention.
Marketing Your Leisure Centre - inspiration, support and tools to develop a better customer service oriented culture, improve your marketing and customer service skills and play a stronger role in the community.
New Media and Sport - mobile, social and digital media advice
The workshops will be run by Svend Elkjaer, Managing Director of Sports Marketing Network, which is part of the Bradford Sports Consortium – the Skills Academy’s Centre of Excellence in Leadership and Management plus Development Centre in Community Sports Enterprise.
David Meli, Yorkshire and the Humber’s Business Development Director at the National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure, says: “Our workshops are a fantastic opportunity for key decision makers to assess how their sport or leisure organisation can benefit from bespoke training, identify areas for development and optimise future training spends for their staff.”
