The theme for the event was ‘Play in a Changing World’ and, as well as the presentation hosted by Lesli Godfrey, we also hosted a workshop entitled Outcomes for Children: the role of the Professional Playworker
This very popular workshop gave delegates an overview of the impact playworkers can have in children’s lives and the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to fulfil this important role. It also explored major government initiatives in the UK which are impacting on playworkers and on the children’s workforce as a whole, and the range of learning opportunities available and planned. Overall it provided delegates the opportunity to reflect on the benefits that playwork can provide for children in their own country.
The workshop will consisted of a brief presentation followed by participative activities designed to engage delegates in discussion and debate on the contribution that playwork can make to the lives of children. To view the presentation click here
