SkillsActive engages with key people in the industry to ensure we achieve our aims and meet the needs of employers involved with active leisure, learning and well-being.
SkillsActive’s vision is more people, better skilled, better qualified. Sector skills councils are recognised by the Government as independent, employer-led organisations whose role is to ensure that the skills system is driven by the needs of employers. We aim to achieve our mission of delivering the workforce for the nation’s well-being by engaging employers, registering individuals, and endorsing providers. Our goal is to gain priority official recognition for the sector status, ensuring that the needs of those working in active leisure, learning and well-being are a priority with key decision makers within the UK.
In order to achieve this, SkillsActive has recently worked with the Skills Protocol Employer Leadership Group (SPELG) to create the a new Employer Skills Protocol for the Leisure Industry.
