FAQs relating to training endorsement renewals for the Register of Exercise Professionals

Why should I continue my endorsement?

Endorsed training for CPD can give the training provider many benefits as well as the candidate.

The piece of training achieves industry recognition, and will appear on the Register's literature and website.

Candidates who are on the Register can use the training as evidence of CPD in order to remain on the Register, therefore making your training more appealing to REP’s 28,000 members.

Endorsed training aims to raises the standard of delivery and assessments given the set criteria training providers have to meet, as well as helping to safeguard and regulate the industry.

As an approved endorsed training provider through SkillsActive, we can offer you support.  For example consultancy, general enquires, or help scoping out business opportunities to make the best of the training coming forward for endorsement.

What happens if I was endorsed before June 2009?

Please be aware since June 2009 the criteria changed for submissions, so you may want to read over the updated documentation if you have not already done so as this could affect the CPD points historically attributed to your training.

Hopefully you will find it a lot easier to follow, with clear evidence checklists of what we expect from submissions. Most of the evidence will have already been submitted, however there are additional sections that need to be completed.

Follow the relevant link to the evidence checklist for your training

What services do you have to help support me through this process?

We have two services which are useful when collating your additional evidence together.

Standardisation training days

The training day goes through how to get a submission approved and looks at other areas including assessment strategies, internal verification etc ensuring that you put forward a sound submission so that you might avoid being referred for further information and incur an additional cost. Look for upcoming dates on our events page.

SkillsActive consultancy

Alternatively, it might be an idea to take up the opportunity of an active consultant. They are able to take you through this process and give you in-depth knowledge surrounding Continued Professional Development and your application on a one-to-one basis.

If I have more then one piece of training do I need to send details in for each piece of CPD?

If you have more then one submission, or in the long run you think you may want to develop further training, then you may want to consider applying for the Training Provider licence.

The licence allows you to deliver an unlimited amount of training automatically endorsed for two years. You do not have to submit each piece of training individually and you will have access to adding dates and venues for all training under your licence without an additional charge. Information regarding the licence can be found on our training provider licence page.

As you met this criteria previously we would like you to continue to be part of this. We believe training providers need recognition as well as the individuals who are working within the industry.
