Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships provide the key work-based learning pathway, offering effective training and education, as the vocational or occupational element is based on national occupational standards.

Completion of an Apprenticeship can lead to progression within the workplace, as well as on to higher level qualifications and training such as foundation and honours degrees.

Apprenticeships also benefit the industry as they equip the workforce with the required skills and knowledge, gained through training in the work place. Apprenticeships are aimed at young people aged between 16 and 24, but can also provide the structure for developing employees over the age of 25.

Employment is the preferred choice for young people on an Apprenticeship, but there is the potential to complete a full framework outside of full-time employment.
