Sports management, leadership and coaching
The Work Based Learning Pathway in sports management, leadership and coaching has been developed and is being project managed by SkillsActive on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG). It is a fantastic new opportunity for students aged 14-16 in Wales to experience hands-on learning within the leisure industry.
What is a Work Based Learning Pathway all about?
Work Based Learning Pathways provide practical learning and invaluable experience of what it’s like to work in a real-life business. As part of the WAG Learning Pathways 14 –19, links have been established with different businesses around Wales to give young people the opportunity to combine their normal school lessons with a blend of vocational qualifications and work experience.
Young people following a Work Based Learning Pathway will still learn vitally important ‘core’ subjects at school, including Maths, English, Welsh, ICT and Science. The difference is that young people’s time will be divided between schoolwork, practical training and work experience.
